Description

Second full album of this psyche-delicious and accessible 21st century Ethiodubjazz formation. As if John Zorn put on Fela Kuti’s shoes and imbibed Mulatu Astatke’s whirls.

On this album Black Flower digs deeper into the oriental sound and introduces heavy dub elements.

The title track ‘Artifacts’ has been appreciated by interesting lads such as LeFto, Gilles Peterson and The Gaslamp Killer and can be considered the killer-track on the album.

Brilliant – Gilles Peterson on BBC Radio 6

‘Artifacts’ is brilliantly coordinated international rhythms inspired by their distant travels and colourful city of Brussels. The album offers a melting pot of diverse cultures. The soundtrack attempts to link together ‘artifacts’ through their songs, and succeed in doing so with an old age human ritual: dancing! – Matthew Barlow
