Nana Osei Twum Barima is a masterful musician, singer, percussionist and dancer, deeply rooted in the rich musical traditions of Ghana. Born into a family of musicians, he inherited the rhythmic spirit of his ancestors and found his voice through the seperewa, the Ghanaian harp-lute. He studied music and dance at the University of Winneba, immersing himself in the sounds of the Akan people and mastering instruments like the mbira, percussion box (Prenpensiwa), bamboo percussion (Adweke) and traditional drums.

Now based in Ghent, Belgium, Nana Osei draws from Kundum, Akom, Palmwine and Nwomkro, weaving hypnotic rhythms and storytelling into his compositions. where his expressive voice and organic instrumentation transport listeners through time and memory. His collaborations span Belgium’s diverse music scene, including artists like Dirk Brossé, Roland Van Campenhout, Osei Korankye, Lara Rosseel, and Bruno Deneckere. Whether on stage or in intimate settings, his music resonates with depth and authenticity.
