Sonetos del Amor Oscuro is an ode brought to life by four enchanted souls, their hearts entwined as they weave harmonies and rhythms through the spellbinding words of Granada’s poet, Federico García Lorca.
Lorca pressed language to its limits—words colliding like tectonic plates, shaping vast plains into soaring poetic mountains. He dressed them in a Moorish carpet of snow crystals and let them shimmer in the dark curls of a gypsy girl from the Albaicín. From her voice, tempered in gold and silver, rises a lullaby—tender, timeless, and strong enough to soothe her little sister into dreams.
Belgian-Brazilian singer Helena Casella lends her deep, warm voice to Lorca’s lyrics, drawing on her roots in soul, R&B, Brazilian music and modern jazz. Myrddin De Cauter, a masterful flamenco guitarist, lets his music resonate like a meditative journey. Stijn Kuppens uses the cello in his own unique way, transcending genres and expressing himself. And Stefan Bracaval, classically trained flutist and jazz improviser, brings lyricism and freedom to the sound.
This is the first single from the full album, set for release on November 21, 2025.
