First and only album by klezmer-rock quintet Mishtu Orchestra.
Description
Mishtu Orchestra was an enthusiastic quintet playing music inspired by the jewish klezmer tradition. Next to some traditionals, most compositions were written by Jeroen De Pessemier, who is the artistic brain of the techno craze The Subs for more than ten years already. Together with Zeger Vandenbussche (sax), Frederik Segers (guitar), Jan Goossens (double bass) and Dimitri Simoen (percussion and drums), the group played a rock inspired version of klezmer called Mishtu, phonetically translated as cool (see the movie Gadjo Dilo). The artwork on the CD is made by the internationally celebrated graphic artist Jan Van Der Veken.
